The “” Wheel of Life” is a good reminder and practice for more work life balance.  I am referring to Paul Meyer’s “The Wheel of Life” created at the Success Motivation Institute.

The Wheel of Life has 8 sections, all of which are pretty self-explanatory. Whether you are building a business or in a job and working hard maintaining balance can often go to the wayside and we (and I am referring to me too!) focus on one or two things and then wonder why our stress level is so high, we are constantly tired or exhausted.

So, take the time to balance these aspects or even just work toward better life balance.

There are resources to work with a coach to get more balance but not necessary.  I believe being aware and mindful of your own wheel is a positive move to personal growth.

If you are so inclined, create a large circle and divide the circle into 8 equal parts.  Label each section with one of the areas listed below.  And evaluate by yourself with yourself which parts are getting your attention.  Too much of one or two sections?   Then mindfully consider how you can more effectively balance the parts of your life wheel.

Areas for your wheel.

  1. Family & Friends
  2. Health
  3. Physical Environment
  4. Significant Other / Romance
  5. Career
  6. Money
  7. Fun & Recreation
  8. Personal Growth

Realizing no one is perfect just working towards more balance is a very positive step
